Take Control of What You Think

I was reading an article written by Dr. Andrea McCreery entitled "Worrying Yourself Sick". She mentioned that brain researchers found chemical and physical evidence that supports the idea that the mind and body functions as one.

How?.....

When we put negative thoughts in our mind we are sending a message to our body to produce and release "messenger molecules" and "stress hormones" that sends negative news to every organ in our body.

The negative thoughts becomes adrenaline, noradrenaline, cortisone, dopamine, and other substances that weakens your immune system. When your immune system becomes weak then you are susceptible to all kinds of diseases.

Did you know that bitterness, anger and hostility which are long known to be related to cardiovascular disease, the pressure of competition, unforgiving and other negative thoughts are disease producing ?

However, PET or Positron Emission Tomography has shown that positive thoughts and attitudes like gratitude, joy, compassion, love, acceptance etc. creates a balance of hormones or "wellness messenger molecules". These substances lead to a balance, harmony and health within our body.

This is a good way for all of us to really think of how we feel about life. We only live once and we need to make the most of it towards the people we care about and the people we deal with in our every day life.

Think positive bloggers....it will do us a lot of blessings.

May you all have a wonderful day!

Hi Valerie,

This is a very interesting study.

And I do believe that this is one of the reasons why Paul said,

"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things." (Philippians 4:8 NKJV)

Blessings to you,
--Chris

Thanks Chris for your input. And the Bible verse you mentioned, I believe that is one reason why God has inspired Paul to write this was because He wanted us to dwell on this thought in our walk in life. We Christians need to show we are a group of people who serve a very awesome God and that reflects in our attitude and dealings with people, and our response to trials. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts.

God bless,
Valerie

Yes, very interesting. The bottom line...is that whatever is in the heart will come out the mouth :)

Thanks Lori for your comment. I agree with you on that. As Christians we need to continue being a light to the world as what God commissioned us to do. Whatever is in our heart and minds, our tongue plays an important role. God bless you Lori
