Mercy

Miriam-Webster Dictionary defines "Mercy" as compassion or forbearance shown especially to an offender or to one subject to one's power.

Nowadays this word seems to be of no importance some of us. Example, if you missed a payment in your credit card or you anticipate being late in your payment due to an insufficient fund, the bank will tell you that if you miss the deadline there will be consequences as with the policy you received when you were approved for that card. There will be no exeptions. Same thing with your mortgage payment, if you do not have enough funds to pay in due time you have to pay for a penalty. There are still people out there whom I am pretty sure is an exemption who I say still practice having "mercy" in their dealings with others. So I have to credit them for that, but just like what I said, hardly do we see people who practice it.

It all comes down to, for every mistake we make there is always a penalty to pay. It is hard to find someone or a business company say to you "I forgive you".

My mother once reminded me on this matter, she told me when I was still in high school that when I become an adult and have a life of my own, that I will pretty much see how life is tough in terms of having "mercy" in case I do make a mistake.

She told me about God who has shown a very good definition of mercy in how we live our lives. We make mistakes but when we realized what we've done and we come to Him, He is so quick to say "I forgive you" and casts away that mistake of yours and He does not remember it again. Isn't that an amazing love?

I hope that in our lives we fit this little word called M-E-R-C-Y in our dealings with other people. Learn and understand them, before we cast our judgement.

Incidentally, I have found this video in YouTube.Com about Mercy (courtesy of jasonworld2007). The song was sung by Steve Green titled "That's where Mercy Begins". I hope you will enjoy watching it. God bless you.
